Gender, parenting, and being gay: recap of question 1

Before we move on to the second question in our series on gender, parenting, and being gay, here’s a recap of our last question:

We often hear gay families say they’re “just like” other families. Is this true for you? How? And how are you not just like straight families?

And the responses so far:

Josh
Gretchen
lezbemoms
The Middle of Everything
First Time Second Time

Thanks everyone for sharing. Next question coming soon.

  1. I loved reading these responses! I just found your blog and had to comment because my eldest (11) has been bemoaning our lack of “normalness” but when questioned never brought up gay parents as an issue. More of concern was our lack of “good” food like doritos or oreos and the glaring omission of an x-box/playstation/wii residing in our living space. So if you asked my kids, we are far from normal, but it has nothing to do with having two moms.
