Question 3 in series on gender, parenting, and being gay

Hey! At long last, I have a question:

For queer couples with kids, there is a necessary third figure in our children’s lives. How do you plan to explain or acknowledge this person?

Josh, you’ve written on Miles’ birth mom a bit already… my question to you (if you’ll indulge me) is how do you plan to explain or acknowledge that fourth figure who helped create Miles?

If you’re a blogger and have something to say about this question, we’d love for you to join the conversation. You can post your answer on your blog and then link to it here in the comments.

I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts. This is a conversation Jill and I have very often and I’d love to hear how others are thinking and talking about it with their partners and kids.
